R. Lee Smith
Buckle your seat belts; it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Let me preface this by saying I love R. Lee Smith, but this book was uneven. It reads like a first novel. Some of the themes that are fully developed in her later books are only sketched in here. There are multiple love interests, and no one stands out. Some characters are fully memorable and others are blanks.
I cannot believe this book was written after Heat, although it has a publication date two years later. I think Smith was trying her wings, trying to see what worked, and going with it once she had figured it out.
That being said, I enjoyed it and will probably read it again if only to try to figure out the ending.
